The five forces of energy flow(creation or shristi, samhara
or destruction, sthithi or protection, illusion or maya and emancipation)
inspired from the cosmic dance of shiva has been depicted through the Cycle Of
Life an painting by Giulio Artside
Sartorio. The cycle of life has been compared to the circle of fire around the
idol which depicts Maya the illusion of life and death, here the fire shows
transformation that is the change of matter from one form to another. Sub-
atomic particles, as justified by modern physics, constantly emit and reabsorb
that is they interact with each other constantly creating and destroying
themselves. The nature is into constant transformation depicted by the horse in
the theme board which signifies change and emancipation. Buddhists say "
Life is not about being but becomingâ€,The space inside the circle of Nataraja
depicts space and time where the deity
holds the abhaya mudra (which says not to be afraid of change)pointing towards
the left foot. The left side of the deity where our heart resides ,is a pace of
movement which depicts Prakriti (nature),matter and is considersed the female part of the system while the right
side depicts the mind which has to be still no matter how much Prakriti changes
in order not to be afraid. From the scientific angle it shoes the interaction
of static and dynamic energy . Here, in the theme board it has been depicted by
the horse which symbolises movement or change and the mountain which remains
still through the ravages of time. The garment range will depict the resonance
of the universe through sound , the duality and transfor.mation of the mind and
matter.
The idol stands upon the demon Apasmara( ignorance). It signifies through the cycle of
time we commit a few mistakes but as time passes by and give us another
opportunity we adopt a habit of committing the same mistakes time and again, because we have forgotten our
past making us think that the crisis in our life is the only crisis. The Indian
culture says that we are a tiny speck in the universe made up of the same
elements with which nature has created other beings, but the problem arises
when our mind keeps on telling us that we are spectacular but we fail to remind
ourselves that how insignificant we are in front of nature, this creates a
constant conflict in our mind makes us apprehensive(Bhaya).
we visualize the damru signifying the rhythm of formation of
creativity . When the cosmos with its various components and biodiversity can
dance to the same rhythm then there is bound to be resonance and when this
happens even the tiniest specks of the universe will live in solace and
harmony.
